Abstract:

This talk presents a selection of our recent work in event-based vision, 3D computer vision, and their applications in robotics and autonomous systems.
We begin by introducing the fundamental principles of event-driven cameras, highlighting how they differ from conventional frame-based sensors and why their microsecond-level temporal resolution and high dynamic range are critical for low-latency perception in challenging environments. Building on these fundamentals, we discuss our recent results in event-based face and gesture recognition, as well as advancements in pose estimation and scene reconstruction.
The second part of the talk focuses on 3D vision using implicit representations, such as DeepSDF and Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF). We present our findings on the 3D reconstruction of fruit and trees, demonstrating how these techniques enhance agricultural monitoring. Finally, if the time allows it, we discuss additioanl progress in detection, tracking, and mapping within the broader context of precision agriculture.

Atentos saludos,
